Our mission is to offer a safe and caring environment where each individual is treated with respect and dignity.

Henley Park House offers 24-hour special care for you or your loved one. We will develop a custom-made caring plan to meet the personal needs of our residents. Below is a partial list of the services we offer to our guests.

Meal Preparation:
We prepare delicious and well balanced home cooked meals and snacks. Eating well is a lifestyle that embraces colorful food, creativity in the kitchen, and eating with friends. For seniors, the benefits of good nutrition include increased mental acuteness, resistance to illness and disease, higher energy levels, a more robust immune system, faster recuperation times, and better management of chronic health problems. As we age, a nutritious diet can also be the key to a positive outlook and staying emotionally balanced. Special diets will be followed as needed, including kosher- style meals.

Physical Exercise & Therapy:
Geriatric physical therapy and exercise is a proven way for elderly adults of all levels of physical ability to build confidence, improve balance and strength, and stay active. There are many additional advantages to physical therapy for which you or your loved one may be a prime candidate for receiving it. Many people are familiar with physical therapy as a treatment after a serious accident, injury, or specific conditions such as a stroke. However, its usefulness extends well beyond those specific conditions. According to the National Institutes of Health, physical therapy is good for improving strength, balance, mobility and overall fitness. We even have an in-home exercise room as well as a full spa! Daily outdoor walks and exercise routines are prepared for each of our residents according with their needs and desires.

Mental Stimulation:
Henley Park House
is attentive to our guests’ mental needs. Recent studies have proven that boredom and isolation can have a detrimental effect on physical, emotional and mental health. Being a part of a community can serve a multitude of needs. Mental stimulation, socializing, a sense of spirituality, a forum for physical activity, and a feeling of belonging are some of the benefits of a community.

  • We teach our residents to play video games to improve fine motor skills and increase brain stimulation.

  • Continue a hobby or learn a new one, such as photography, that offers mental, physical and emotional engagements.

  • Learn conversational Spanish.

  • Music – Encourage a senior to play piano, sing solo or in-group, drum dances, etc.

  • Art – For any skill level, drawing, watercolors and oil painting are great for mental stimulation and fine motor skills.

  • Storytelling – Libraries and schools are always looking for storytellers for children's groups.

  • Discussion groups (books, films, current events).

Social/Emotional Needs:
We love companionship! We are a happy and vibrant place! We enjoy sharing life experiences, celebrating birthdays and holidays, playing group games and conversations with each other on a regular basis. The elders must be given the opportunity to express themselves so that they know they are being heard and understood. We know how to build a supportive environment for our residents’ social interactions. We also offer transportation to residents’ religious services and special events.

Activities and Entertainment:
Our guests are always entertained with in-house activities and outdoor fun. Some of our favorite things to do are to go fishing, read books, play tennis, gardening, watch movies and most importantly, enjoy each other’s company. Lilly’s Villa features a game/activity room, a reading library, an equipped music room with pianos and guitars as well as a spa and sauna room. Local outings include walks on the beach, planned visits to the different attraction areas of our beautiful city: Mount Soledad scenic views of La Jolla, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Del Mar Fairgrounds and Racetrack, La Jolla Caves, La Jolla Cove, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sea World, Wild Animal Park, Torrey Pines Golf Course, jazz concerts, Old Globe Theatre, as well as picnics on the beach, shopping centers, organized excursions, etc.

Our full time caregivers are tested and professionally trained under the supervision of our owner and administrator. They provide to our residents personal assistance and care. Our personnel receive continuous professional training in geriatric psychology with special emphasis in understanding the physical and the emotional needs of our residents.
